Marian Caccianiga

Marian was born in the Netherlands and mmigrated to Australia with her family when she was very young. Having grown up in Perth where she met her husband and moved to a large sheep and dryland cropping farm at Manangatang. Here in the Mallee, Marian raised two children, loved horses and working on the farm, chasing sheep and occasionally driving the broad acre machinery.

Marian has a deep respect for the environment and the out door life, especially camping on the majestic Murray river. This has inspired many of her paintings. Mainly self taught, Marian has been painting for over 25 years, attending many art workshops and TAFE classes in Robinvale.

For many years she has been selling prints and cards at markets, field days and art and craft shows. These prints are from her original charcoal paintings of the pioneer farmers of the Mallee. 

Marian received an honourable mention at the Birchip Art Show and the People's Choice Award at the Mallee Art Show in 2001 and 2003 as well as the Best Exhibit in 2003. Her paintings are in many private collections in Australia and over seas.
