Jan Lawler

Jan is a highly regarded artist from Balranald, a small town in South Western NSW.

A traditional painter of still life, people and landscapers, her passion for drawing and pastels have led to many hundreds of awards over her painting career. These include two time winner of the prestigious Victor Harbor Corporate Prize (1991 and 2000). Recent awards include Best in Show – King Valley, Kerang and Finley also Best Pastel at Alexandra, Narrandera, Wagga Wagga, Kerang, Yanco and Echuca. Acquisitive awards have recently been received at Deniliquin, Victor Harbor and Mildura.

Jan has a love of the arid lands of Australia and its people. For the past 25 years she has painted regularly with a group of artists “The Painters of the Plains” at Old Abbotsford homestead near Ivanhoe, NSW.
